Material Properties

  • High hot strength and tempering back resistance.
  • Very good creep resistance.
  • Good thermal shock resistance.
  • Good toughness and ductility.
  • Good weldability
  • Good machinability.
  • Up to 54 HRc after heat treatment.
  • Recommended working hardness 42-48 HRc
  • Good nitriding and coating ability.

Applications

  • Aluminium extrusion dies in tough conditions or for better surface quality
  • Aluminium extrusion dies for better surface quality on the profile
  • Against to deformation problems in al extrusion dies
  • Stems, support blocks, bolsters, stamps, etc in aluminium extrusion tools.
  • Liners in Al extrusion
  • Shot sleeves on die casting.
  • Cores, pins, and inserts on the hot sections of the die casting dies.
  • Inserts of symmetric press forging dies.
  • Preferred for dies and tools operating at elevated temperatures.
  • Not recommended to use on large dies because its toughness is lower than 2343 and 2344 and the other modified grades.
  • Welding rolls in pipe profile manufacturing
